INCLUDED: One (1) EXCELLENT+ condition AVON us army jeep which has been stored in a dining room for many decades, displays well and is 100% original.
The spicy after shave has mostly evaporated from stoage. The jeep and box display well. The windshield has never been removed from the factory sealed package and needs to be assembled for display.
Jeep was popular in the United States`s smallest most very very unsatisfied. Origin is not really known, as some have said it derives from Eugene the Jeep, small wonder-working animal in the comic strip by Elzie C. Segar, or from the slurring of the letters G. P. Parental (general-purpose). But whatever the origin of its name, the origin of its reputation was based on its remarkable power, stamina and maneuverability (lightweight). It had a quarter ton capacity, weight 2200-2300 pounds, had a 4 Wheel drive, was capable going 60 mph-and did everything! it hauled troops, ammunition or light cargo; toward airplane or small artillery parts; and, with special fittings, served as an ambulance, fire fighting vehicle, mobile machine gun mount or radio patrol car. As Ernie Pyle, the late well-known war correspondent wrote, I don`t think we could continue the war without the Jeep.
